Assumes a simple rectangular room. Wastage is a typical allowance for cuts and breakages: about 10% for straight lays, 15% or more for herringbone and chevron. Adhesive assumes roughly 4 m² per 20 kg bag (typically 3 to 5 m² depending on tile size and trowel). Buy every box from the same batch so the shade matches. Showers and niches add a little more.

A guide only, based on the common signs of a failed shower membrane. Cracked grout and silicone alone can often be fixed with a regrout and reseal. Stains or swelling beyond the shower usually mean water has got past the waterproofing. If water is coming through a ceiling, stop using the shower and get it checked.

Before tiling, we project level and plumb lines onto the walls and floor, then plan the layout so cuts are even on both sides and full tiles sit where your eye goes first: the niche, the vanity, the doorway.
Sometimes, on a sound floor outside the wet area. We won’t do it in a shower, because the waterproofing underneath needs replacing too. We’ll check and tell you straight.
Yes. It’s handed over at the end with your invoice. Keep it with your house papers, as buyers and insurers can ask for it.

Not always. Try the leak checker above. Cracked grout on its own is often fixed with a regrout and fresh silicone. Swelling timber or stains next door usually mean the membrane has failed.
